Sean Hill

Sean Hill is a Medical Recruitment and Workforce Consultant and the Director of Samos Consulting.

Prior to starting Samos Consulting Sean successfully rebuilt and managed a rural general practice/family physician recruitment team for nearly 4 years. During this time he also established and managed a second team (for the same organisation) focused on the recruitment of hospital based practitioners.

Sean has considerable sector experience and expertise in assessing the qualifications, training and experience of international medical graduates. His previous experience also includes 4.5 years with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), and most of that time as Registration Manager. Immediately after leaving the MCNZ he spent 12 months establishing a medical recruitment division within a small private company.

Sean has previously consulted to organisations in New Zealand and Australia on recruitment strategy and has experience in partnering the New Zealand Immigration Service, and District Health Boards with recruitment initiatives in Europe.

Sean has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Policy with a particular focus on health policy, a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and he is a member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand.

Helen Ennals

Helen Ennals

Helen Ennals is a Recruitment Consultant for Samos Consulting who has over 6 years of health recruitment experience. Born and raised in Belgium, with Anglo/Dutch parentage, she has a unique European background and speaks Dutch and French.

Formerly a Paediatric Nurse who gained her B.A (Hons) degree in the United Kingdom, Helen has worked as a healthcare professional both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, including working at the Royal London Hospital and Auckland’s Starship Hospital. Helen therefore, has an excellent understanding of both health care systems, as well as the experience of living and working in different countries.

Helen is well travelled within New Zealand and internationally. She first came to New Zealand on a temporary basis to ‘test’ the country and subsequently, because it was such a success, immigrated to New Zealand and is now a permanent resident.

Helen’s expertise lies in being able to assist a variety of healthcare professionals from around the world gain employment in New Zealand. She is in regular contact with hospitals/clinics/practices both in public and private settings. Helen has an excellent knowledge of the relocation process and will be delighted to assist you with your transition to New Zealand.

Kate Van Echten

Kate van Echten

Kate van Echten is a Recruitment Consultant for Samos Consulting.  She has five years experience in medical recruitment and specialises in the placement of hospital doctors and general practitioners/family physicians in short term locum roles and long term/permanent roles. Kate recruits New Zealand doctors and internationally trained and qualified doctors of all levels across many disciplines.

Kate has previously recruited internationally, visiting Europe and the UK which gives her an excellent understanding of the needs of practitioners from this part of the world. Her expertise will ensure placements are an ideal fit for both practitioners and clients.

Kate has an excellent understanding of MCNZ registration requirements and will manage the registration/licensure process from start to finish, ensuring a stress free placement.
